In a heart-wrenching incident, 27 bodies have been recovered from the Teesta River in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. The recovery efforts have been initiated by the Jalpaiguri district administration, police, Municipal Corporation Disaster Management, NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), Civil Defense, and local residents.
These bodies were found between Wednesday and Friday, and the distressing news has prompted families of missing individuals to converge on the area, their hearts heavy with anguish and hope.
Among the recovered bodies, there are reports of some belonging to army personnel. As word of the discovery spread, relatives of missing individuals, including both civilians and army personnel, from Sikkim began arriving at the Jalpaiguri Hospital Mortuary on Saturday morning in search of information and closure. The recovery operation represents a collaborative effort involving various authorities and local communities.
